Configuring the NPKD Service

In order to use NPKD Service in ADSS Server, ICAO PKD server address needs to be configured. ICAO PKD is a LDAP directory that contains Master Lists (containing CSCA Certificates), DS certificates and CRLs of different member states and countries. NPKD Service communicates directly with ICAO PKD to retrieve Foreign Master Lists, DS Certificates and CRLs and store them locally so that they can be provided to Inspection Systems on request. 

Following steps are required to configure ICAO PKD, the order in which the steps are defined is not important since it is easy to go back to an earlier step and also make changes later if required:

Steps Description
Step 1:
Configure ICAO PKD Upload Settings so that DS Certificates, Master List's (containing CSCA Certificates) and CRLs can be uploaded to ICAO PKD making the data available to member states and countries of ICAO PKD.
Step 2: Configure ICAO PKD Download Settings so that DS Certificates, Master List's (containing Foreign CSCA Certificates) and CRLs can be downloaded and stored locally which can be provided to Inspection Systems on request. 
Step 3:
Register one or more client applications within the Client Manager. These client will be authorised to make requests to NPKD Service to fetch Master Lists and CRLs. 
Step 4:
The Service Manager can be used to start, stop or restart the NPKD Service.
