Create SigningHub permission levels in a team site

After you have opted an existing team site, or have created a new team site in your SharePoint to install SigningHub for SharePoint, you need to:

  1. Create four (4) different permission levels in the team site on which the add-in is required to install, 
  2. Create a custom SharePoint site group in the team site with the permission levels.
  3. Add the SharePoint users belonging to your Enterprise in your SharePoint site group.
These permission levels are used to give a restricted end-user access of SigningHub for SharePoint to the team site. A SharePoint site group having all these permissions will have full access to the SigningHub for SharePoint add-in. 

To comply with the SigningHub standards, the permissions' names should be:

Please note that permission names are case-sensitive, and any deviation in them or skipping any permission may possibly lead to SigningHub for SharePoint malfunction. Consider an example of creating the "SH-SETTINGS" permission, the same process can be followed to create other three as well. 


Create a permission level

  1. Browse the SharePoint site link (on which SigningHub add-in is required to install) and log into your Office 365 account with SharePoint administrator credentials.
  2. Click  and select the "Site permissions" option.



  3. Click the "Advanced permission settings" link.



  4. Click the "Permission Levels" option.



  5. Click the "Add a Permission Level" option.



  6. The "Add a Permission Level" page will appear. Specify the permission name as "SH-SETTINGS" and its description in the provided fields. 



    Now scroll down the "Add a Permission Level" page and select the "Enumerate Permissions" check box, as marked with the red arrow. 



  7. Click the "Create" button available at the end of the page. A new permission level will be created and shown on the screen.



    Repeat the steps 5, 6 and 7 to create other three permissions as well in the same way. 

 

Create a custom SharePoint site group with the permission levels
After creating all four permission levels, you need to create a custom SharePoint site group and assign these permissions to it. 

  1. Browse the SharePoint site link (on which SigningHub add-in is required to install) and log into your Office 365 account with SharePoint administrator credentials.
  2. Click  and select the "Site permissions" option.



  3. Click the "Advanced permission settings" link.



  4. Click the "Create Group" option.



  5. Specify the group name and other details in the provided fields as required. 



  6. Now scroll down the page and select all four SH permission levels for this group, and click the "Create" button. 



    A new group will be created with the assigned permissions and group owner, as shown below. 


 

Add SharePoint users in your SharePoint site group
After creating a SharePoint site group, add the SharePoint users belonging to your Enterprise in your SharePoint site group. 

  1. Click the "New" tab and select the "Add users to this group " option from the opened group screen. 



  2. Specify the user names one by one (i.e. Caroline, Sam, etc.) and click the "Share" button. 



    The specified users will be added in the group and shown in its users list. 

     

1. In order to access the SigningHub for SharePoint add-in, the SharePoint Online/ on-premises users must have their "Work Email" set in their SharePoint accounts. The users which do not have their "Work Email", will not be listed under the "SigningHub Users Access" screen.
2. When you add a new user inside a SharePoint site group or update any existing user's information, then you need to sync the user profile with the SigningHub for SharePoint add-in. For this, click the Health option.
