General Settings

To create a new validation policy, click the New button. This will present the following wizard:

Each element of the form is described below:

Items Description
Status An SCVP validation policy may be marked Active or Inactive. Note an inactive validation policy will not be used to process certificate validation requests.
Validation Policy OID A unique identifier for each validation policy. Its format should be like 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.19.1.
Configuration ID It is a system generated unique identifier that is incremented by "1" at each validation policy's update/revision. If you want to verify what policy settings were used to validate your request then you can click the Configuration ID in the transaction logs against your desired record and you will be presented with your profile settings in a dialog box. If changes are detected in the validation policy since your request was processed then those fields will be highlighted. Default value is set to “1” when the policy is created.
Validation Policy Name An operator defined unique name for easier recognition within the ADSS Server Operator Console.
Validation Policy Description This can be used to describe the validation policy in more detail (e.g. in which circumstances this validation policy will be used and/or what sort of setting the validation policy holds etc). This is for information purposes only.

You will be moved to the Trust Anchor settings page by clicking the Next button.
