Configuring signature settings in a role

SigningHub enables you to configure signature settings for the enterprise users. In this regard, enterprise admin can configure the signing methods for web browsers, signing methods for mobile apps and the signing reasons within a role.

To configure signature settings in a role,
  1. Login with the enterprise admin credentials.
  2. Click the "Enterprise" option from the top menu.
  3. Click the "Roles" option from the right menu.
  4. Click  adjacent to the role (to edit) from the main grid. The "Edit Role" screen will appear to configure role access.
  5. Click the "Signature Settings" tab. The first tab i.e. "Signature Settings" will be opened by default.
  6. Configure the "Allowed Signing Methods for Web Browsers" section by selecting the desired signing methods.
    • Tick the "Server-side Signing" option, if you want to enable server-side signing for the web browsers and select an "Authentication Method" for it. The selected authentication method will then be used when signing the document through web browsers.
    • Tick the "Client-side (local) Signing" option, if you want to enable client-side signing for the web browsers.
    • Tick the "Mobile Signing" option, if you want to enable mobile signing for the web browsers.
    • Select the "Default" signing method in case of enabling multiple signing methods. The selected option will be shown as default signing method to your enterprise users (that are registered with this role).
  7. Configure the "Allowed Signing Methods for Mobile Apps" section by selecting the desired signing methods.
    • Tick the "Server-side Signing" option, if you want to enable server-side signing for the mobile apps and select an "Authentication Method" for it. The selected authentication method will then be used when signing the document through mobile apps.
    • Tick the "Client-side (local) Signing" option, if you want to enable client-side signing for the mobile apps.
    • Select the "Default" signing method in case of enabling multiple signing methods. The selected option will be shown as default signing method to your enterprise users (that are registered with this role).
  8. Configure the "Manage Signing Reasons" section.
    • Click the "Signing Reasons" button to manage (add and delete) signing reasons. The specified reasons will be available in the "Predefined" and "Fixed" fields below. When used in the Signature Appearance, Signing reason becomes the permanent part of the PDF signature and can optionally be shown in the signed PDF document.
    • Select the "User defined" option, if you want the enterprise users to specify their own signing reasons at the time of signing.
    • Select the "Predefined" option, if you want the enterprise users to choose one of the available signing reasons from the list. Select a default reason for the enterprise users from the list.
    • Select the "Fixed" option, if you want the enterprise users to use a fixed signing reason. Select a fixed signing reason from the list.
  9. Click the "Save" button.

‚ÄčThe drop down list of "Authentication Method" (i.e. SigningHub ID, Salesforce, Microsoft Active Directory, Entrust IdentityGuard, etc.) in server-side signing, depends on your SigningHub License or subscribed service plan. If you could not find the required authentication method in the list, contact support@signinghub.com
